How do I get schedule my first session?
You can fill out our contact form through our website. After submitting, we will get back to you with an estimate for services approved by your insurance company. We will call you to find a time that works to schedule your first session!
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a time for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about your goals, what’s bringing you to therapy, and how we can work together.
How long is a typical session?
Most individual sessions last 55-60 minutes.
How often will I come to therapy?
This varies by person, but most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. We’ll decide together what frequency feels right for you based on your goals and life circumstances.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! We are in network with the following providers: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, and more!
We will check your benefits and get back to you with a potential estimate for services based on your insurance coverage. We cannot guarantee these will be the official costs.
(Tip: Call your insurance provider to ask about mental health coverage.)
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Yes! We offer in-person and virtual sessions depending on your preference and availability.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
That depends on your goals. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others prefer longer-term support. We will work to fit your needs!

What should I do if I’m in crisis and need support immediately?
Key Counseling does not provide crisis support outside of scheduled sessions. If you are in crisis, please call 9-1-1 .
